We’re doing a little LaurelFest today :). She’s new to the wrestling forefront, but I’ve become an instant fan of her excellent style. We kick it off with a floral romper (from A’Gaci store) which she pairs which strappy wedge sandals. I love that Laurel chose a fabric done in deep burgundy with a range of pink and red flowers on it, embracing the dark floral trend. It’s a beautiful and more grounded genre of the traditional cheery and feminine pattern. It’s perfect for summer, styled Laurel’s way and works for transitional dressing with suede OTK boots and a classic leather jacket. I’m wild over the spectacular color of her next look, a coord set (also from A’Gaci store) embellished with ruffles that add beautiful movement. This is what warm weather is all about – the chance to wear magnificent brights like this! I also love that you can break this set up –pair the top with cropped flared jeans, pair the shorts with a black and white striped tee. Laurel completed the look with strappy white flat sandals. Since the ruffles make the look fancier, her use of flats works perfectly to keep the vibe laidback. She lets the fancy have full rein on her next look, a fabulous mauve party dress with a fit-and-flare silhouette and an asymmetrical ruffle detail. Her high donut bun is a flawless choice, looking refined and elegant. She finished the look with simple ivory sandals. I could have loved a more formal ankle strap pair, but these work well. She goes cute and casual for her final early July look, a cropped white tee and cut-off denim shorts that have a super-fun pink waistband. She injects an appealing dose of personality by adding a pink, printed scarf as a hairband – it’s such a great way to give flare, visual interest and stylish weight to a casual outfit. Classic white sneakers complete this look with a sporty vintage vibe.
Lastly, I had to take a moment to heap some appreciation on this Independence Day swimsuit from Mandy. She chose a classically star-and-striped piece with a scalding hot deep-v front. The high-cut leg trendily references the 80’s. She adds gorgeous fishtail pigtails and massive circular shades to complete this sultry Americana look.

I love the multitude of colors in this look from Emma it's like her bright, bouncy, print-happy introductory fashion persona, but done in a much more grown up and sophisticated way. She pairs a simple, deep blue cropped top with a vibrant, free-form print that looks as it was done with washes of color. A mallard blue blends into amethyst, bittersweet red and magenta. It's a perfect example of mixing without matching. I also adore how her dark nail shade adds moody gravity to this look.
We've seen a couple of great ring outfits from Laurel, so I went off to see what the rest of her fashion is like and lo and behold, she kills that too! First up is a sweet floral romper, which she toughens up with split-sided booties. The warm tones of her boots work perfectly with the muted red and sage tones and ivory backdrop of her romper. With a caramel-toned jacket tossed on top, this is a flawless transitional look. Next up is a super-cute and playful combination of a Mickey Mouse tee and cut-off blue jeans. She finished the look with black Converse sneakers and a high pony tail. I love the 90's vibe of her sneakers and the laidback, youthful ease of her styling. She then switches things up with a breezy, feminine off-the-shoulder blue dress (from A'gaci store). Embellished caramel wedge sandals give a beachy, summery spin to this on-trend, pretty dress. A low bun and tendrils enhance the femme vibe. She takes things in a fierce direction with her next look, an envelope-style LBD with a deep-v neckline. She's accessorized it simply, with a slim black choker and ivory ankle-strap shoes. The minimalist philosophy works beautifully. She then does an about-face color-wise, going to an all-white look that pairs a frothy dress with strappy flat sandals. The lace bodice, pleated skirt and criss-cross details give a gentle formality to this dress. Laurel counteracts that by choosing flats and enhances the casually femme vibe with a low pony. I'm so impressed by her wide range of style genres and the way she uses different hair styles to accent her look. Often, we see ladies with gorgeous flowing locks getting stuck on one or two styles, but Laurel works a whole range of options. Brava! Still got more Lana-fashion for ya! This Queen's a style machine!
At Fastlane, she rocked a velvet double-breasted dress, which she paired with shimmering, futuristic OTK's. The double-breasted style can get overwhelming if it's paired with a lot of other elements, so I love this design's simplicity. The silver OTKs are edgy and probably wouldn't have been my first choice to pair with this dress, but I think Lana pulls it off. The coordinating choker helps and her audacity and confidence carry it through. That being said, I love those boots in an of themselves and would ADORE them in an editorial context. Their unflinching Space-Age beauty would be flawless in a galactic setting. She was back to red for this next look, a lovely cranberry bodycon dress. She get props for the mid length, as well as for pairing it with one of my favorite contrasting-genre toppers: a tough leather jacket. The red and black combo works as fabulously as it always does - #IconicForAReason. Next, she gives us two looks with this cold-shoulder choker-style top by Topshop. She makes it travel-ready in look #1 by pairing it with flared leggings and a fur duster. I really enjoy how Lana's style is rarely boring; even when she's being practical and comfortable, she still manages to inject panache and flair into her style. This statement duster really puts the exclamation point on this monochrome look. Outfit #2 pairs the tops with printed high-waisted pants from House of CB. I love the laidback -but thoroughly chic! - vibe of this look. The print is interesting but not busy and harmonizes nicely with the simple trendiness of her top. An oversize watch finishes the look with a hint of precisely (and perfectly) chosen sophistication. Mandy did this wide-leg look back in late winter, so I've metamorphosized it for warmer weather - who need s a fur vest at 90 degrees, right? Although, maybe in an air conditioned office...:). Anyway, let's pretend the AC hasn't been cranked up to sub-zero Refrigerate-The-Humans temps and you want to dress in one or two layers instead of seventeen. The wide-leg trend is staying strong in fashion and it's definitely worth trying - also waaay more comfortable than skinny jeans :). The flowy wide-leg is a dramatic silhouette that can be either balanced, or accentuated, depending on your preference. Look for a pair that's tailored, with a higher or tapered-in waist (even if you're going to cover it). The right design assists the way this piece works and a cut that goes straight up from the hip can have a tendency to come off blocky. For a crisp polished interpretation, top this statement pant with a minimalist button-down blouse. Tuck it in and play up the waist with a black leather belt and pointy pumps. The look plays off the iconic color scheme and understated sophistication of the elements. For a chic, artsy vibe, skip the whole waist-focus and top the pants with an un-tucked cami. Almost any style that's not exceptionally casual will work (avoid un-embellished knits and form-fitting pieces). A simple silk variation, a floral print, a solid metallic, a ruffled/embroidered/crochet or lace-detailed piece. This whole outfit is about fluidity and movement, so you'll need to ground it a bit via your shoes. Reach for a structured chunky-heeled sandal with a 70's vibe or an of-the-moment pointy flat. For non-professional events, you can stop right there, but for offices and other less-casual environments, add a topper. Go haute couture with a sleeveless trench, modern boho with a linen duster, or quirky with a free-spirited kimono. Or, you can play up the waist with a look that's picking up steam as we speak: the wide belt/corset waist. This super-easy variation turns on your chosen belt, so play around with backdrops that accentuate it: dark neutrals for a bright or pale color, light ones for black or dark brown. Grab your favorite un-embellished, refined tee (no baseball tees, or ribbed-collar types; you're looking for something more finished). Tuck it out over your wide-leg pants. Add belt of choice. Finish with coordinating shoes - a colored on-trend mule/slide, a classy pointy pump, a structured neutral sandal. And boom! Done. (PS You can 100% add the belt over a peplum top). Oooooooor :), you can push the envelope a bit more and wear an actual corset or bustier over your top instead of a belt. How amazing is that look?! Happy styling, Fancies!
There are a number of snaps from Wrestlemania week and events that just didn't quite fit anywhere else, so I've collected them all here into a salad of Wrestlemania fashion - with plenty of dressing (ha ha...see what I did there? :) ...Ok, yeah...it was a bad pun...but you love me for them :)). Prob about to be the tastiest salad you've ever had, right?
If you saw this and thought "Hey - Mandy and Lana buy their boots at the same place!", well....yep I had that same though too :). Mandy reminded us that she's the Gold Standard of WWE by rounding off this white crop top and blush pencil skirt combo with metallic gold ankle booties. As with Lana's outfit, these seem like a bit too brazen a way to finish the look, at least in this material. I'd love them in beige suede, though! Then again, I could totally see this color and silhouette paired with her ring gear. So, the boots themselves = yaas, the circumstances = less yaas. Minus the boots, I like the way this look works on Mandy. It fits her trendy, sexy style, without being overblown and I like the minimalist influence of the unadorned silhouettes and fabrics. As a side note, it's quite similar to the look Maryse wore for Axxess. I wonder if the French Queen is giving Mandy some style inspiration? Hmmm :) Charlotte's cutout floral dress was her look of choice for both the Rick Flair statue unveiling and her Toys R Us meet and greet. This is a gorgeous dress, playing on the season's dark floral trend, a look that made waves in the fall and has stayed strong through the spring. The wide-ranging mix of colors in the print keeps the styling fresh and garden-y, but less starry-eyed than a light-background print. The side cutouts give an extra dash of flirty-ness, while the sheer lacy details the edge of the bodice bring an interesting extra dimension. Charlotte plays that up nicely by echoing it in her shoe choice: black ankle strap sandals with sheer fabric at the vamp. This is a wonderful summer dress than could be lightened up more with bright accessories (yellow sandals, aqua bag), as well as working its way into fall when topped with a blazer or motorcycle jacket. Stephanie also attended the Rick Flair statue reveal and, like Charlotte, chose a dress for the event. This checkerboard print isn't my favorite per se - possibly due in part to the somewhat drab sage-gray color - but I absolutely love the way the print is used on the piece to create shape. The smaller scale in the middle accentuates the waist, while the larger rint at the bottom enhances the a-line shape and adds to the hourglass visual. So, despite my lack of excitement about the pattern, I think the piece is wonderfully conceived and a fantastic choice for Stephanie. She completed the look with one of her favorite pairs of sandals, her St. Laurent Tribute sandals in black. She also gets fierce point for the super cute braided ponytail! Maryse created a fabulous layered effect by wearing her ivory capelet dress from BCBG over this sheer-printed sheath dress. I'm wild over the unique way she used these two pieces together - what a great way to get more out of your wardrobe! And the look is amazing; the extra dimension the underlayer adds to the cape dress works flawlessly and looks incredibly chic! She finishes this masterpiece with her Valentino Rockstud pumps and a neutral bag with a chain handle for a bit of extra edge. Equally appealing is the black monochrome outfit she wore for a business summit with Alicia. Maryse paired a simple v-neck peplum top with flowing wide-leg pants. Note the difference in the look they create compared to, say, a leather legging or a mini pencil skirt. The look comes off polished and professional. It's a crucial part of being a fashionista to dress appropriately for the occasion, whatever it may be and Maryse is a master at it! She finishes the look with a barely-visible pair of black embellished sandals that we'll be getting a better look at shortly *wink*. Comparable to Maryse as a fashionista is Foxy, with an equal innate grasp of the right look for an event. She, too, went with an all-black look and wide-leg pants. She topped hers with a v-neck blouse as well, but added a beautifully tailored jacket and statement necklace. My favorite part of her look is the dash of quirkiness thrown in via patent leather oxford flats. That is trademark Foxy! I love how she always throws a curveball into her fashion and never lets it get boring. Divas and former divas were pulling out all the stops for WrestleMania Day. Not only did we see some great gear, we saw some great looks from participants and lookers-on alike as they arrived for the big day.
Barbie slayed a coord set comprised of a bandeau top and high-waisted pencil skirt. Snaps (which appear to be functional as well as decorative) on the latter allow the wearer to control the height of the side slit - which is a fabulous design idea. Barbie left hers high enough for drama, but without getting into questionable territory, which I approve of highly :). She finished the look with simple yet sexy black ankle strap sandals. I love the way these work here - there's some space between the hem of her skirt and the top of the ankle strap that keeps the proportion of the look just right, which is an important consideration for wearing strappy heels with midi hemlines. Her smooth, straight hair looks polished and refined. I'm a little less enthralled with her next piece, an ivory mini dress from Windsor Store. The super-high side slit takes a bit too much risk for my liking, even with the lace-up details. Her pairing of light neutrals, though, via her nude sandals, is a solid combination. Lana's glittering, poof-shouldered a-line mini is by Sherri Hill and Lana clearly had fun twirling about in it! The strong-shoulder is spot on-trend and, along with the multi-patterned sequins, makes this one BOLD dress - not that that's surprising from Lana. I like her choice to offset the formality with boots...just maybe not glistening silver boots :). It seems like an over-the-top choice that puts this look into space alien territory for me. I'd have grounded it more with black boots, or gray suede as a second choice, and a simpler bag as well. That being said, this is Lana and she loves to be brave with her fashion, which sometimes means we get results like this. If I had to choose, I'd rather her take risks that ocassionally don't pan out than be staid...so, carry on Lana Queen! Mandy surprised me by really dressing up for Wrestlemania Day. I'm not sure whether she had an additional event to attend, just felt like being fancy or felt that Wrestlemania was worthy of this level of formality..or all three. Either, I don't care - my surprise is a pleasant one. I love the minimalism and soft drape of this black gown. The cutouts and unusual neckline create an appealing geometry on her body, highlighting her curves without looking overblown. I would have preferred a sandal or lace-up bootie to these round toe pumps for a little extra va-voom, but I love her choice of a massive watch as her main accessory - it adds a contrasting dose of informality to her dress. Her long and loose hair is the perfect accompaniment. I can't help but love Alexa's sheer-striped dress (from Aqua x Bloomingdales. ID by fashionofthedivas.tumblr.com). It's a perfect blend of cute and couture that completely suits her. She has an incredible knack for choosing clothes that really fit and express her personality! She sparkles it up (of course!) with a pretty crystal statement necklace that adds just the right dose of shine to the texture of her dress. Mandy offered us some memorable highlights through the winter. This blue-tinged gray two-piece dress hugs every curve! It's from Fashion Nova, which offers pieces that seem to be more to the fast-fashion side, a boon if you need a plethora of trendy outfits and likely one reason why Mandy's a big fan. Mandy has a predilection for pairing this kind of trendy piece with haute couture shoes, a pattern she follows here. These navy-and-white platform t-strap stunners are from Gucci and featured studded embellishments on the strap. (Anyone feel like blowing a tax refund with me? ;) Yes, I am that friend). If I were her, I'd pair these with EVERYthing too. In fact, I might not even need an outfit ;). She turned to Fashion Nova again for this piece, an ivory jumpsuit with a plunging v-neck. It's simple, except for the dramatic silhouette, which I find appealing. She kept the look monochrome by completing it with pale beige pumps. The platform style plays up the 70's feel of the look. If you're re-creating this outfit for an event or date night, make it cool-weather-friendly by tossing a long coat or duster-length trench over your shoulders (or wearing it unbuttoned and flowing). The fashion in Mandy's next shot is pretty plain: halter crop top, shorts, white wedge sneakers. Modern, sporty...and even though it's well-edited, still powerful! I just had to share this because it looks so dang freaking amazing! I love her poofed ponytail and her serious expression, and the way the light and shadow plays in this snap - just gorge! Def gym inspo right there! The last snap in this set - also from a photoshoot - is another of those "so hot I had to share" ones. This laser-punched suit is sexy as heck; it's like a modern, sleek, tough-as-nails eyelet! I would definitely have trouble keeping this super-deep plunge in place - even with the pair of crossed straps, but Mandy carries it off no prob. With her side-swept hair, this puts me in mind of throwbacks to the days of WWE's Tropical Paradise 'shoots and vids with Lita, Trish, Jacqueline and their compatriots.
